Two More Blog Awards from Three Bloggers

Well, I promised to finally step up and thank FRANNIE, Raine and la aventurista for bestowing two more awards to me and my little ole blog. Thanks, guys! The first one, the Kreativ Blogger Award, comes with a few rules. Ask anyone and you'll probably learn that I am not really a stickler for rules. Nonetheless, here they are:

1. Thank the person(s) who nominated you for this award. (check)

2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog. (check)

3. Link to the person(s) who nominated you for this award. (check)

4. List seven things about yourself people might not know.

5. Nominate seven Kreativ Bloggers.
*9/28 revision - I'm nominating more than seven. Why? Because I CAN. :)

6. Post links to the seven blogs you nominate.

7. Leave a comment on the seven blogs you nominate so they know they have been nominated.

OK. So, here are seven things about me people may not know:

1. I don't cook.
This isn't to say that I can't or that I never have or that I never do. I just mean that I am not someone who generally prepares delicious meals, especially given my current lifestyle (hectic). My facebook status updates are never related to a fabulous souffle or homemade marinara sauces.

2. I do, however, love to enjoy other people's cooking. :)

3. Speaking a little more of food, I love seafood. Lobster especially.

4. I cannot drink cheap beer from a can.
I do drink (and enjoy drinking) beer but I just can't drink cheap, canned beer. I tried once. If there was a time when I would've been able to I would've thought it would've been this particular instance. It was HOT, HUMID and there was nothing else left to drink at my friend's wedding reception (which took place in a forest preserve) except for a can of Old Style. I cracked that baby open, took one swig and thought, "Gah, still can't drink it."

5. I really wish I could smoke cigarettes.
As in, I made a conscious choice NOT to smoke after my lungs collapsed (for no known reason) when I was 13 years old. Doctors advised I never smoke given this experience which made sense to me especially since - as odd as it will sound - it seemed like something I would enjoy. When I was going through my divorce, I remember walking by people smoking a cigarette and thinking, "God, would I love a cigarette." I have actually smoked a cigarette or two before (hey, I didn't TAKE UP smoking, I was just smoking a cigarette here and there), like maybe two packs total over the course of my entire life. Thing is, I can tell you the exact date of the last one I had and will ever have. How do I know that is the last cigarette I will ever even casually smoke? Because when I smoked that one it tasted soooo good I realized that if I ever had another, I would pick it up as a habit. So far, so good. (Also so far so good - my lungs haven't collapsed again.)

6. Every time a new season starts, I find myself thinking, "No THIS is my favorite season."

7. I love the book The Little Prince - specifically the chapter in which the Little Prince and the Fox discuss what it means to tame. Please read it.

OK. Now, in no particular order, I will nominate seven Kreativ Bloggers...

*9/28 revision - I'm nominating more than seven. Why? Because I CAN. :)

1. 5ft inf

2. King of New York Hacks

3. Jen's Voices

4. Scope-Tech

5. Ha ha. Wait. What?

6. Graceful Considerations

7. Her Vintage Stage

8. Funny is the New Young

9. John and Steve are Having a Baby

OK. On to the second award, which is from Raine. And since this award involves royalty (even if it is being a royal pain in the a$$) I get to make up the rules for this one. And, like Raine, I am going to give this to the same people I just listed above. And, I gotta admit that I am REALLY curious to see if the men I nominated actually accept this particular award. Welp, should be interesting to see!
Thanks, again, FRANNIE, Raine and la aventurista!

  2. As a non-smoker, I find that when I get really stressed out I think, "Gee, I wish I had a cigarette right now." Something about the image of sitting outside on the curb, talking on the phone about all my problems, seems fitting.
